我们作为在波士顿大学合法注册的学生社团组织,本着主要为中国学生学者服务的原则,尽力争取校内校外的资源,为新老学生提供信息和力所能及的帮助,以便每一位联谊会成员在波士顿的生活更加顺利和愉快。我们建立的网站邮件列表使得信息的交流和传播更加快捷和全面。

中国学生学者联谊会

 

Dear fellow students and scholars,

CONGRATULATIONS on admission to Boston University, one of the most prestigious and vibrant universities in Boston area. This is from BUCSSA (Boston University Chinese Students & Scholars Association (波士顿大学中国学生学者联合会), your family thousand miles away from the home.

As always, we are happy to take any of your questions from getting ready for the trip to settling down in this new country. Studying abroad is an exciting, busy and sometimes stressful experience. We want to make your adjustment to BU as smooth as possible. 

Below is the SUMMER AGENDA with some services/events that may help you in the next few months before starting classes. Please read them carefully before your raise any question so that we can help you in a more efficient way:

 

1.    Join the BUCSSA community

 

We list below two popular platforms for you to connect all other Chinese students and scholars at BU.

Go to http://people.bu.edu/bucssa/form/subscribe and sign up for the community.

Please sign up in our website at new student registration.

 

2.    Summer Information Session

 

To provide a platform for everyone of you who are interested in getting know some new students and introducing yourselves before coming to BU, we are planning to hold a “Meet and Greet” event in July 2009 in Beijing. You’re welcome to attend.

 

More details will be announced soon.

3.    Airport Pickup

 

BUCSSA is planning on providing airport pickup as usual. Intensive pickups are supposed to be on from Aug 10 to Aug 30, 2009. We will contact with you at the beginning of Aug to notify you the driver's information.

4.    Temp Housing

 

In Boston, most leases for housing start from every September 1st. So upon arriving here in July or August, you might need a place to stay for a couple of days before you move into a permanent apartment. Below are some resources that you may check up for hotel/housing/sublet.

 

(1)  Looking for a hotel

 

http://www.hostels.com is a good place to check.

 

(2)  Looking for summer sublet and/or long-term apartment

 

Craigslist:

http://boston.craigslist.org/hhh/  It’s one of the most popular online resources among American and aliens in US with all kind of classified ads.

 

Yahoo Group:
